Sick of coccydinia

Anonymous

I contributed to the site about 2 years ago. At one point I thought I was through with pain because I thought it was from kidney stones. It wasn't. The pain was gone only because of all the morphine I was given for the stones.

I've had coccydinia for about 3 years. Had a series of cortisone shots early on. Didn't help and may have made things worse. The pain felt at the tip of the tailbone which felt like a bruise turned into a gnawing, aching sacrum. I feel it most of the time now. I don't even have to be sitting. I've been to spine doctors, a chiropractor, an acupuncturist.

I don't like to mention pain to anyone anymore because people have the attitude that it is either hysterical, neurotic, or because of lack of exercise or they think I should just take pain pills. I don't even want to get into a discussion because I'm not neurotic, always have been health conscious and always enjoyed being active and I don't care to take pain pills. I've had too many scans and sick of all of it.

Just venting here. I don't think there's much hope for this malady. I've tried every kind of cushion and even use an electric massage thing that helps by causing a distraction. Try a shaman?
