Some chiropractors can cure this pain, but not all

Becky

I had been suffering with coccyx pain for several months before I decided to go to the doctors, as I always thought it would go away on its own, but unfortunately it didn't. I was in real pain by the time I sought treatment and could not sit down for more than 5 minutes without having to try to sit in a different position or lie down.

On my first visit to the doctor's, I was told there was nothing that could be done about coccyx pain, I would just have to live with it! On my second visit I demanded to be referred to a chiropractor, which they did. I went to a local Chiropractor who advised that I would need to visit him 3 times a week for 4 weeks, twice a week for 4 weeks and once a week thereafter - I received very little relief from all these treatment, especially since it cost a small fortune!!

Anyhow I was very despondent and thought perhaps the doctor was right and that there really wasn't anything that could be done about this pain, but my mum went on the coccyx.org website and discovered that Michael Durtnall of the Sayer Chiropractic Clinic in Kensington, London (see Doctors and specialists in the UK) had successfully treated many women like me with coccyx pain.

I booked up to see Michael and after several treatments I am now fully recovered and pain free for the first time in about a year - excellent result and I would recommend anyone with this kind of injury to go to see him.

Recently when I returned to my doctor's I told them they were wrong to advise me that there was nothing that could be done to rectify my coccyx pain and gave them Michael's telephone number to give to patients who were suffering like I did. They were surprised by this but relieved that they now know where to refer patients in future.
