Well, today was the day (February 2, 2005). Operation on my coccyx went well, I had surgery this morning around 7:30 am and was waking up around 8:30 am. I had my operation in Chesapeake, Virginia. by Dr Distasio. The surgery was faster then I thought it was going to be, and it was amazing how fast they put you to sleep. I need some of that stuff to get to sleep when the wife is snoring at times.
I'm now at home, a little sore taking some Perkiden and some antibiotics. I will be following up with my doctor on the February 10.
It was difficult finding a doctor and I was lucky to find my doctor that has done a few of these operations. The staff was very good and was very helpful in a professional manner. The reason for my removal of the coccyx was the position of it. It was similar to the shape of a fishing hook and caused great pain over the last decade and I finally decided to have it done. Hopefully I will have no complications and have a 100% recovery.
I will leave some feedback once I follow back up with my doctor, and post it on the site for anyone looking to have this procedure done. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Got to go. Just remembered I left something at the Hospital. Oh, never mind, it's just that pain in the butt tailbone.
