Part of sacral bone removed because it stuck out like a tail

Susan - ginger@eohio.net

I had coccyx surgery on June 29th, 2004 with one of the best doctors, Dr. Dickerson in Charlotte, N C. It seemed that it was helping in the beginning, and I could sit better than I can now. It has been almost 7 months since my surgery. I'm now having pain throughout entire back and neck.

Has anyone else had their healing period go backwards instead of forward like mine has? I had the 3-part coccyx removed and one and a half centimeters of my sacral bone because it stuck out like a tail, and I was sitting right on the end of the bone.

If anyone has had some of the sacral bone removed, plus the entire coccyx, please let me know how you are doing. It would mean a lot to me. I can't understand why my healing period did a U turn. I've talked with Dr. Dickerson and he feels I should have had some improvement by now. It still feels like coccyx is in there, I still have excruciating rectal pain, female area pain and pain with bowel movements.

And has anyone with coccyx problems and coccyx surgery had a feeling of a beach ball being in the female canal?

Thanks for your responses.

Susan
