Fall caused extreme pain, but for the most part it doesn't bother me anymore

I slipped going down the basement stairs and landed in a way that caused an extreme pain in my tailbone that seemed to crawl up and grip me around the ribs. All I could do was lay there and moan for five minutes. I never went to the doctor because I didn't have insurance and I didn't think there was anything they could do for me. I mean, the tailbone isn't exactly accessible so that you can put a cast on it.

It seemed to take an extremely long time for the pain to subside and still it is sometimes painful to sit but for the most part it doesn't bother me anymore. I wish I would have used a cushion to aid in healing because it was so painful to sit for almost a year after that.

I'm not sure if I should have gone to the doctor but I seem to have no ill effects now.
