About 5 days ago I slipped on ice and fell down the side steps by my door landing right on my tailbone. The pain was awful! I could barely walk. I went to the emergency room where they told me it was likely a bruised or fractured coccyx. They didn't do an x-ray at that time because they said there is nothing differently you can do if it is a fracture vs. a bruise.

The pain is getting somewhat better, however, it still hurts a lot to bend over, sit, and walk. A few questions: Should the doctor have done an x-ray? How long does is take for something like this to heal? I am generally a very active person exercising pretty strenuously 5-6 times a week and it is killing me not to be able to exercise. Any input would be much appreciated! My e-mail is nicolio908@hotmail.com. Thanks so much!!
