Looking for a chiropractor in Toronto area

3 1/2 years ago, I fell on the ice while curling. My feet went out from under me and I came down hard on my tailbone. The pain was severe, like that of a broken bone. I wanted to pass out and throw up at the same time. I used cushions, couldn't really sit any length of time, pain killers etc. and after 2 years it started to get better.

Woe is me, I then re-injured it about 1 1/2 years ago by sitting on a wooden chair for too long. When I went to get up, the paint was excruciating and I knew immediately what had happened. It has been a terrible ordeal, but about six months ago I found a chiropractor in Nova Scotia who practiced "total body modification" and after 4 months of treatment, I started to improve. I could actually sit for 30 minutes without having to get up.

Unfortunately, we moved to Ontario the end of December and I haven't been able to find another chiropractor with experience in tailbone injury. I live in the Ajax/Pickering area. I'd appreciate recommendations if anyone knows one. I phoned the Chiropractic Association but they haven't gotten back to me with a name.

I'm presently trying cranio-sacral therapy but it doesn't seem to be working (at least not yet). I'm really getting desperate as it's totally affecting my quality of life. I can't stand to drive anywhere and the only relief I get is lying down with the heating pad.

I know there's a doctor in Scarborough that does the surgery but I'm nervous to go that route. Any advice?

Regards,

Trudy
