Severe coccyx pain from congenital spinal cord problem

I too have this terrible pain and I'm still reading the stories at this site which are helpful. My pain stems from a tethered spinal cord. My cord essentially is snagged on a bone spur (or something else) preventing it from moving naturally. This has caused all sort of problems for me, not least of which is my coccyx pain causing tailbone, back and seat pain upon sitting for long periods of time.

Meds help for a while but only up to a point. I've been in the emergency room a lot. It was suggested that I try the implantation device that gets implanted and blocks pain signals from the brain. I'm skeptical though. Has anyone had success with this?
