Just over a year ago I fell on my coccyx playing netball and its been hurting ever since (mostly when I sit on it, rides in the car are the worst as well as getting up after I've been sitting on it). Around January I started getting muscle spasms in my lower back/bottom area, I went to the doctor, about 1-2 months after I started getting the muscle spasms, who referred me to a physio before they had even heard about how I had done it. So anyway, I went to the physio who gave me some exercises to do as well as a spiky blue ball to rub around my coccyx area to help with the muscle spasms; the exercises numb the pain for about half an hour to an hour depending on what I'm doing, if I'm sitting on my bed then the muscle spasms will be back after about half an hour. I've been to the physio a number of times but they just say to keep doing the exercises.
Anyways, to cut a long story short, I'm sick of living in practically constant pain, if it's not the coccyx then it's the muscle spasms. I've read other people's experiences with coccyx pain but no-one has mentioned muscle spasms which is making me think that I might have done something more than hurt my coccyx. Should I get an x-ray? Sorry that my story is going on and on but I can't take it anymore! I can't even go to the toilet properly because the muscles in my back/buttom are so tense all the time.
I don't really know what to do and I'm beginning to think that there's nothing I can do. If anyone has some advice they could give me or info it would be much appreciated! I hope everyone who has had to endure this pain has had/will have a successful recovery.
