A couple of years ago, I slipped a disc in my lower back. I started to use my pelvic muscles more than my glutes, which eventually put so much strain on them that they pulled my coccyx into a vertical position. I went through physical examinations, MRIs, x-rays, but nothing pointed to a particular cause because there was no impact to the area and it was not broken or fractured. All doctors could do for me was prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs, which worked for a couple of hours before the cycle of pain would begin again. I bought every bum pillow under the sun (the doughnut was terrible!) and tried steroid injections but nothing gave me long-term relief.

Many people don't understand the emotional side of physical pain. Not being able to get comfortable made me feel awkward all the time Ė I couldn't sit properly, I couldn't sleep properly, I was exhausted and miserable. It was also very isolating as people couldn't understand how frustrating it was to sit on a sore butt for 8 hours every day!

I suffered through the agony for a very long nine months, then I found a review on this website about Angela James at the Sydney Pelvic Clinic (see Doctors and specialists in Australia, New South Wales). Thanks to Angela's clinic, my life turned a corner. Within a couple of treatments, my coccyx was better! I got rid of my pillow and I can now sit comfortably at work and at home. I so much happier Ė like a whole new person! I have even managed to run again! I'm so excited to share my story so that other people can get some help too.
