Jon Miles

(Picture of Jon Miles) I am a retired physicist, previously working at the UK National Radiological Protection Board on the natural radioactive gas radon. See, for example, this report on mapping radon in homes in England and Wales (PDF). I live in Oxfordshire, England.

I own www.coccyx.org and have been running the site since 1999. I am not a doctor - I am a patient, I developed coccyx pain in 1993 following an accident, and created this website to provide sufferers and medical personnel with accurate information about this condition. You can read my own story of tailbone pain here.

I pay the expenses for the website myself, and take no advertising or sponsorship. See the website policy here.

I have presented papers at the series of International Symposiums on Coccyx Disorders:

A History of Coccydynia

Coping with Coccyx Pain

Patient reports of treatment effectiveness

Why do manual treatments for coccydynia differ between practitioners?

I have been interviewed by Roel Wilbers, a Dutch physiotherapist specialising in coccydynia treatment, in his podcast series
