I was unable to sit at all

I have been struggling from tailbone bone pain since last week of Dec 2022 which worsened in January 2023. I was unable to sit at all and it was very painful. My Orthopaedician diagnosed it to be Coccydynia asked me to sit on a doughnut cushion and said that the pain will reduce. I am lean by nature but had lost considerable weight in the last few months and that was what caused the tailbone pain. However, I could not sit on the cushion also and could actually feel my bone moving. I stopped working thinking rest might help it, took painkillers but nothing worked.

In February 2023 I was desperate for some relief and was convinced that this pain will not go away by itself and I found the contact of Dr. Syeeda Mubashira (see Doctors and specialists in India). I visited her, got the dynamic Xray done and she beautifully explained what was happening and how I had double angulation which was causing the pain. For the first time I felt someone understood what was happening to me and felt could give me relief. Her confidence, knowledge, positivity and ability to connect with me was so reassuring and gave me a lot of confidence and relief.

I went for 5 days of manipulation and have religiously followed her exercise regimen for one month and it has been very useful. The exercises were targeted at muscle and pelvic floor strengthening. I also took Vitamin supplements since my blood tests showed that I was having some deficiency. I experienced pain relief after the first manipulation set and my Xray was also showing the same. I still had pain and went back for the second set of manipulation because I had double angulation. My pain has come down dramatically after the second manipulation of 3 sessions. I no longer have that pain from the bone misalignment I can say. But I have some soreness at the tip of my tailbone probably because of my low weight and lack of muscle to cushion the tailbone which causes some pain for which Dr. Syeeda has been giving me some treatment.

The best part is she has genuine concern, listens to the patient with patience and crafts her treatment accordingly. Her analysis of the condition and individual experiences is amazing. She explained the logic behind the exercises and answers all our questions. I am almost ok and am confident that with her input I will be pain free very soon.

Note from Jon Miles:

I emailed more than a year after this story was posted, to ask for an update, as the long-term outcome of treatment is of great interest. In this case I did not get a reply.
