I was told that nothing could be done

In 2022, I fractured my coccyx and was told by the NHS that nothing could be done - they wouldn't even X-ray me! At the time, I was in my early-twenties and struggling with severe pain, which often made it impossible for me to work.
Determined to find a solution, I did some research and discovered Dr. Robert Griffiths (see Doctors and specialists in the UK, London) through this exact website. Since then, I've been seeing him on and off for treatment, including manual manipulation and shockwave therapy.
My pain has significantly improved from when I first started. Dr. Griffiths has also referred me to other healthcare specialists when needed, such as for an MRI and injections. I can't thank him enough for helping me manage my coccyx pain.
Update, 2025-11-14
I’ve not had any further treatment since we last had contact. I do experience pain in my day to day life but I find it manageable by avoiding certain things (wearing jeans and sitting for a long period of time).
I had a flare up in January after driving for 8 hours I couldn’t stand upright without pain for over a week and I was referred to MSK through the NHS. I am still on the waiting list for a hydrocortisone injection with Dr Ward at Nuffield Haywards Heath, which I don’t think I will go ahead with having now as I don’t want to risk aggravating the area.
One thing to note is I do strength training 4x a week, I have found an improvement with my pain whether or not it’s related to that.
